Tavronitis is a small seaside resort, 20 kms west of Chania on the way to Kolymbari next to Maleme.
Tourism still remains here low key, and you can enjoy its wonderful pebbly beach away from noise.
There are some traditional mini markets, a butcher's , a baker's and three banks all with ATM machines.
A few fish taverns line the beautiful beach which stretches towards Kolimbari.
